AI Audio Forum
About
A live online webinar covering how the new European Union (EU) directive that ensures language accessibility across the continent is adding to the audio challenges for live sports productions. Sports broadcasters have always been faced with making sure that every live production is accessible to as many viewers as possible across their territories. However, this challenge has been escalated by the European Accessibility Act (EAA), which became effective in 2025. The EAA mandates that subtitles, closed captions, and audio descriptions be made available for TV, streaming, and online media, in all 24 languages supported by the EU. The goal is to boost accessibility for all, including language learners and minorities. Panellists will discuss this directive, what it means for broadcasters, as well as the issue of audio accessibility in live sports.
